2021 Research Forum: Call for Abstracts

The call for abstracts has now closed.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Symposium 2021 presents the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Forum.

A showcase of breast cancer research from across Canada! High quality, clinically relevant research in breast cancer is being completed all over Canada, and we want everyone to know about it. The Canadian Breast Cancer Research Forum is now accepting applications for poster presentations. Our goal is to highlight research from across the country that has already been acknowledged through peer review.

Important Dates

April 15th, 2021 Submission Deadline
May 19th, 2021 Notifications of Acceptance
May 30th, 2021 Notification of Willingness to Present

Inclusion Criteria for Abstract

Please submit your research if, since April 1, 2019, it has been:

  • accepted/presented as a poster or presentation at a provincial, national or international meeting
  • published in a peer-reviewed journal
  • Invitees may also submit a request to present an update on a multi-center trial or advertise a clinical trial.
  • Research on all topics related to breast cancer care are welcome
  • For this forum, we are only accepting submissions from within Canada.
  • Presenting authors are not allowed to present more than 2 poster abstracts.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in 350 words or less.
  • Abstracts should contain the title, authors, background, methodology, results, conclusion and where presented or published.
  • Please keep in mind, at time of acceptance to present, presenters must register for the Symposium
  • Note: registration for presenters who are residents and fellows will be waived

Final posters or presentations will be requested after Notification of Acceptance

Poster format

Final posters can be in PDF (one page) OR video (3 minutes) format.

PDF posters

All posters must:

  • fit on one page in portrait style (11” wide x 17” high)
  • be in PDF format include the following headings:
    • Title, authors, acknowledgements
    • Background
    • Methodology
    • Results
    • Conclusion

Video presentations

Video presentations consist of 2 parts:

  1. A pre-recorded PowerPoint presentation that must:
    • be a maximum length of 3 minutes
    • be submitted in MP4 video format
    • contain slides in 16:9 format
    • contain a maximum of five slides with content as follows:
      • Title, authors, acknowledgements
      • Background
      • Methodology
      • Results
      • Conclusion
  2. An audio walkthrough of your presentation.
